-
Home care
You leave with a simple routine: how to wash, moisturize and cover your locs so they stay strong between visits.
Good questions
Locs & Interlocks questions, answered
Traditional locs are formed and maintained by palm rolling or comb coiling, which gives a smooth, classic finish. Interlocking pulls the end of the loc through its root with a tool, which locks the root more firmly and holds up well for active lifestyles, fine hair, and clients who wash their hair often.
Yes. I start locs with comb coils, twists or interlocking, chosen for your hair's texture, density and the size of loc you want to grow into. At your first appointment we talk through the look you are after, how your hair behaves, and the maintenance rhythm that will keep your starter locs neat while they mature.
Keep your scalp clean, moisturize lightly without heavy waxes or butters that build up inside the loc, and sleep with your locs covered. At every maintenance visit I check your roots, edges and scalp, and I will show you exactly what to do at home so your locs stay strong between appointments.
In many cases, yes. Weak spots, thinning roots and locs that have started to break can often be repaired or rebuilt before they are lost. Book a visit and I will examine your locs honestly: if a loc can be saved I will save it, and if a section needs a different plan I will tell you straight.
