Sleeping with your braids covered, keeping your scalp clean and moisturized, and not leaving a style in past its time all protect the hair underneath, which is the whole point of a protective style.
Braids should never hurt. I braid with your edges and your hair's strength in mind: no pulling, no styles tighter than your hair can hold, and honest advice if a style you want is too heavy for your hair right now. Tell me at any point if something feels too tight and I will adjust it.
Come with your hair washed, detangled and free of heavy product, unless we have arranged your wash here. Clean, stretched or blown-out hair braids faster and more neatly, and it gives me a true read on your hair's condition so I can flag anything that needs care before we style it.
